GNM or General Nursing Midwifery is a Three and a half-year diploma course in the field of Nursing. Students who wish to pursue GNM diploma can proceed after passing their class 12 exam with Science stream. The Three year and half-year course includes six-months of mandatory internship. GNM diploma course is one of the sort out course which can be considered as a stepping stone towards making a career in the Nursing field. After the successful completion of the GNM diploma, the graduates are registered as an RNRM (Registered Nurse Registered Midwife) and is designated as a Nurse. The Nursing profession involves dealing with patients and assists doctors in providing care. While dealing with the different types of patients the Nurse attending them should have enough patience in order to show empathy to the patients. Besides this the Nurse should have demonstrated skills of working with doctors, patients and other hospital administration, compassion with having excellent communication skills.
